Diving with Kona Honu Divers is "vacation diving". On the "Honu One" the crew carries your tank back to one of two benches on the stern. You just sit down, buckle up, and stride off into the beautiful Kona waters. The “Honu One” vessel has recently been equipped with the same underwater LED lights that are responsible for the Manta Rays attraction. The light attracts plankton and the mantas love to swim in graceful circles while they feed on the plankton to the delight of all aboard. Kona Honu Divers are the only operation that has these spectacular LED lights on their vessels.

I just got back from my trip to the Big Island, and I am still re-living the amazing Manta Ray Night Dive that my brother, my 70 year-old Dad and myself did on May 6! The crew on the boat was fantastic, and even though I had a badly sprained ankle, I was determined to see those beautiful rays, and they helped in every way to get me in and out of the water as pain-free as possible. I really appreciated it, and will remember that dive always!!! It was definitely one of the major highlights of my life, and my Dad and brother felt the same way. "My husband and I visited Hawaii in May 2004. We booked a Manta Ray dive though our hotel activity desk and were not sure what to expect. I have to say this was the best dive we have ever done. The staff was exceptional. One thing that stands out the most is that they did NOT treat us like cattle. We had a very relaxing and fun ride out and once we were at the dive site the staff made sure everyone was comfortable with their gear, the dive site and diving in general. I have trouble equalizing and always feel like I am holding the dive up, not this time. The crew was right there to help me out and I cannot thank them enough. Had it been any other dive company that I have used in the past, I would have given up and went back to the boat. Not this time, I had the time of my life. I have told everyone I know about your company and have recommended you to them. We have been planning a trip to Mexico to do our advanced, but have decided to wait and go back to Hawaii next May and use Kona Honu Divers.
